A Guide to Marche
Marche is a coastal region that stretches down the Adriatic coast. The area is a mix of flat landscapes and rocky mountainous precipices. It offers a wide range of attractions for visitors from the beautiful coastline, with its charming seaside towns, to the stunning countryside and protected nature reserves, not forgetting the large contribution of artistic treasures in the area. Some of the most impressive sites of the Marche region are the Cathedral of Ancona, the Cathedral of Pesaro, the Ducal Palace in Urbino, the grandiose Sferisteriois in Macerata, the towns of Ascoli Piceno and Recanati, the latter once being the home of the poet Giacomo Leopardi.
