A Guide to Monza
Monza is the capital town of the Brianza district, and an important industrial and residential centre with a population of approximately 121.000 inhabitants. In 1922, the National Motordrome was constructed in the park near to the town, the Monza racetrack is now one of the most famous throughout the world and a haven for motorcar and motorbike enthusiasts. The Motodome is seen as the jewel in the crown in racing, it is equipped with state of the art technology, and is one of the world's most taxing circuits for racing drivers.
Sights to see at Monza include the cathedral and museum, with marble facade originating from the ancient oraculum dedicated to San Giovanni Battista by Queen Teodelinda; the Church of Santa Maria In Strada of the XIV century; the tower of Via Lambro and the historic Railway station of 1884.
