A Guide to Ravello
Ravello is located on a hill top with views that have inspired many. It has arguably the best view of the Amalfi coast line. It is found between the Valley del Regina and the Valley del Dragone on a summit reached by the narrow winding road from the coast. Giovanni Boccaccio was among the great literary minds that worked in the tranquillity of the town.
The artistic achievements of Ravello are scattered about the towns cultural sites, but a number of which are housed in the Villa Rufolo which has magnificent gardens that host musical and cultural events. The other sites of the town are Villa Cimbrone, the Cathedral of St Pantaleone with its stunning marble work; the adjacent bell tower, the Castle ruins, Palazzo Rufolo, the Church of St Martino, the Church of St Angelo and the Church of St Giovanni del Toro.
