  • The country is home to many stunning historical and cultural sites. The most notable of these are located in the capital city of Paris. The wonderful Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe, the museum of Le Louvre and the Cathedral of Notre Dame are sites which must be visited when coming to the city.

  • However there are many sites to see on a journey to France including remnants of the Roman Empire including the Gallo-Roman amphitheatre at Dervant, and the Roman amphitheatre at Toulouse.

  • For those who love film, the Cannes Film festival is held annually and is regarded as the most important of all the film festivals throughout the world.

  • One site which must be visited is the Palace at Versailles which is arguably the greatest palace in the world. Built by Louis XIV to show his enemies the extent of his wealth it was also the site of the controversial Treaty of Versailles signed after the first world war.
