Great getaway by Nicholas Ford (29 September 2008)
We took a chance on this little town for our 4 day getaway and what a pleasure it was! Quite conveniently located on the west coast (about an hour and a half from San Francisco town center), it boasts all the charms of, quite literally, a one street town.
With tons of delightful spas in area, you're spoilt for choice for your pampering needs. We stayed in a little place called The Chanric Inn about a minute's drive out of Calistoga... and if you enjoy the slow leisurely pace of a 3 course gourmet brunch before you head out then it's definitely the place for you. Calistoga makes a great base too for your wine farming tours too.
