France Provence

A Guide to Aix-en-provence

Aix en Provence is a city that if situated virtually anywhere else in France would have been the capital of the region but unfortunately the city just couldn’t compete with the might of the great Marseille. The city is home to the very rich and powerful due to the economy of the town relying on landowning. The people in Aix are very well presented and it is home to a huge number of students.

The main attractions of Aix are the streets and what they have to offer. Though there are many museums and monuments which are stunning and well worth a look the charm of Aix is not held with its sites but with its everyday life. The streets are always vibrant and alive and there are fantastic cafes and restaurants open ready to serve you as best they can and provide some of the best meals not just in the region but also in the country.

There are also markets in the town which are only rivalled by Paris and the whole town is typically French and a must stop area when in or around the region.
