France Limousin

A Guide to Limoges

Like Eymoutiers, Limoges is a quaint little town, which is perfect for a stop over though not for very long. The town does though have a few more sites and the beautiful Gothic Cathedrale St Etienne accentuates this. This alone makes the town worth diverting towards. There are many attractions to the town including a few museums such as the Musee Municipal de l’Eveche, which has many exhibitions on the enamel work, which thrived in the town.

There are also the botanical gardens in the town where the beautiful greenery and river Vienne provide a perfect contrast with the beauty of the urban stone of the town and its features. The town of Limoges is a beautiful and a perfect stop off point for a morning or afternoons exploration on your way through the picturesque region of Limousin.
