Bullfighting, regrettably to some, is a feature of Spanish culture. Great bullrings exist in most cities, resembling the Colosseum in Rome where Christians were thrown to the lions and gladiators fought to the death. Fortunately that Roman ‘sport’ died out, but not so Spanish bullfighting. This is theatre of a different kind where matadors and picadors appear in gorgeous outfits as they take on the fighting bulls – a very colourful, albeit bloodthirsty, occasion. Not for the faint-hearted!
