The Villa del Sol is one of Mexico's premier beach resorts situated on the quiet La Ropa beach in the resort village of Zihuatanejo, four miles from Ixtapa. Guests receive complimentary welcome cocktails upon arrival. The resort's atmosphere is tranquil, with guests lounging by the pool, strolling along the beach, or enjoying leisurely meals on the veranda.
The concierge staff helps guests plan sailing, windsurfing, waterskiing, fishing, horse riding, scuba diving, snorkeling, and other excursions. The Villa del Sol features a large infinity pool with a swim up bar, cushioned lounge chairs and thatched roofs that shade guests on the 600 foot sandy beach.
Meandering pathways allow guests to wander extensive tropical gardens of coconut palms, bamboo, hibiscus and bougainvillea. The resort spa provides health and beauty treatments, including massage, yoga classes, sauna, and salon services.
The hotel also has a gift shop, movie library and art gallery. The hotel's in house restaurant is located next to the beach and serves authentic Mexican, French, and International style cuisine, as well as, Mediterranean style dishes and seafood entrees.
Housed in two story casitas amid tropical gardens, all 70 guestrooms feature Mexican handcrafts and artwork, dark wood contemporary furnishings, and white and cream colored fabrics that complement the tropical serene surroundings. All rooms have private, furnished terraces with views of the gardens, lagoon, or ocean.
Bathrooms are tiled with marble and stone and rooms have air conditioning and ceiling fans. Additional amenities include premium bedding, separate sitting areas, satellite TV, minibars, complimentary toiletries, bathrobes and bottled water that is replenished twice daily. By car from Liberia: If you're coming from the south, take a left at the traffic light, drive for about 20 kms, then you will pass the village of Comunidad and you will see on your right a large road sign for Playa Ocotal and Playa del Coco, turn right.
Playa del Coco is 15 kms away, follow the signs. When you arrive in Coco, turn right on the first street passed the Hotel Coco Verde. Villa del Sol is located 1.2 km on this road
