A Guide to Chianciano Terme
Found on the border with Umbria, it is situated upon a hill in Valdichiana and Val d'Orcia. The town is a major spa town in Tuscany and lies within un-spoilt countryside.
The town’s center has a charming number of green spaces, parks and public gardens, ideal for relaxing in after the heat of the day has passed. The archeological sites of Etruscan origin, such as the Necropoli de la Pedata, the Etruscan-Roman spa of Mezzomiglio, the Necropoli of Tolle and the Poggio Bacherai farmstead offer an interesting account of the towns history.
Along side these is the excellent Etruscan Museum where you can appreciate the Tempio dei Fucoli, the Canopi, the Pedata Bronzes, and ceramics and gold from the Terrosi collection. As well as the spa and historical aspects the towns numerous boutiques add an elegance to Chianciano Terme, whilst the beautiful countryside is ideal for explorations either on foot or horseback.
