Description |
Location. The Hyatt Regency Maui Resort sits on 40 oceanfront acres overlooking Kaanapali Beach in Kaanapali, Hawaii. The resort is across from Kaanapali Golf Courses and one half mile from Whalers Village. The town of Lahaina and Kapalua Airport are within four miles of the hotel.
Hotel Features. The hotel's six restaurants and lounges offer views of the hotel's tropical landscaping, with lush terrain and ponds filled with swans, flamingos, cranes and koi. Cascades Grill & Sushi Bar serves made to order sushi, fish and steaks in a garden setting, while Spat's Trattoria showcases Italian cuisine. Buffet style breakfasts are offered in the Swan Court, which features an indoor/outdoor dining room that overlooks waterfalls and rock gardens. After dinner entertainment includes the Drums of the Pacific Luau. The hotel features two freeform pools with views of the ocean, a 150 foot enclosed waterslide, a secret swim up underwater cave and a grotto bar. A separate children's activity area features a pool surrounded by sand and a 25 foot slide. Spa treatments are available at Spa Moana, where traditional Lomi Lomi and Hawaiian Hot Stone massages are performed. Fitness equipment and classes, including Tai chi, Pilates, yoga and water aerobics, are offered. In addition, the hotel's 55 foot catamaran transports guests to sailing, whale watching and snorkeling destinations.
Guestrooms. With Hawaiian tapestries, fresh flowers and rattan furniture, each guestroom features a traditional Hawaiian style. All rooms include the Hyatt Grand Bed with pillowtop mattress, five pillows, down comforters and 250 thread count sheets. Sliding doors open to furnished lanais with views of the mountains and golf courses or the Pacific Ocean. Refrigerators and minibars are included.
Expert Tip. My kids loved the activities offered throughout the hotel's Camp Hyatt. Not only did they learn how to hula dance and make leis, they were also taken on outrigger canoe rides and supervised at the children's pool.

Complimentary Children's Meals:
Book a four night minimum stay before August 25, for travel June 11 through August 25, 2007, and receive complimentary children's meals from the Johnny Venture menu or existing children's menu, with the purchase of an adult meal. This offer is valid for breakfast, lunch and dinner for one child, 12 years and under, per paying adult. Meals are limited to select restaurants and details are provided at check in. Subject to availability. No refund on unused portion. For breakfast, the complimentary adult meal that is included in the "Sunshine on Sale" program does not constitute a paid adult meal.
