Location. Across from a breakwater portion of Waikiki Beach in Honolulu, Hawaii, the Hyatt Regency Waikiki Resort & Spa stands one block from open air shopping at the International Market Place and five blocks from the Kapiolani Park, housing the historic Diamond Head and Honolulu Zoo wildlife. Expert Tip. I felt like a native Hawaiian at the torch lighting ceremony, held across the street from the hotel on the Kuhio Beach coast. The ceremony takes place at sunset by the base of Duke Kahanamoku's statue, a tribute to the islands' renowned surfer.
