Description |
Location. Palacio Urgoiti is a reconstructed stone palace which dates back to the 1600s and set in 11 acre grounds that include a golf course. It is 12 kilometres from Bilbao city centre and the renowned Guggenheim Museum, and Plentzia and Bakio beaches. Bilbao Airport (BIO) is four kilometres away.
Hotel Features. Guests can enjoy a drink in the informal bar and unwind in the fitness room and indoor swimming pool. Conference facilities with wireless Internet are available, and there is also a ballroom and banquet hall.
Palacio Urgoiti has a modern restaurant which serves traditional Basque Country dishes and offers views of the golf course.
Guests can work on their swing at the hotel's nine hole course (par 3), putting green and driving range.
Guestrooms. The hotel features 43 air conditioned guestrooms set over three floors. All rooms have large windows overlooking the golf course and feature neutral decor with richly decorated fabrics and heavy wood reproduction furniture. Amenities include complimentary wireless Internet, minibars, flatscreen televisions, and bathrobes and slippers.
Expert Tip. Although the hotel dates back to the 17th century, the building is actually a complete reconstruction. It was taken down stone by stone after the land it stood on was confiscated, and rebuilt in 2004 with its original layout, using many original decorative elements including the doors.
