Description |
Location. The Atahotel Planibel Residence is made up of five apartment buildings surrounding a central piazza, from where a ski chair rises directly to the slopes. Situated at the foot of the Rutor Glacier and facing Mont Blanc, the residence is 150 kilometres from Turin Airport, around 90 minutes by car.
Hotel Features. The residence is run by multilingual staff who can offer advice on the local area, and provides guests with ski storage facilities. After a day on the slopes, guests can relax in the Finnish and Turkish baths and sauna, swim a few laps of the indoor swimming pool, or enjoy a workout in the gym. Beauty services and on site shopping are also available.
Aparthotel Planibel Residence offers a choice of dining options, including the King Café, a relaxed, informal restaurant located in the basement of the hotel where diners enjoy a choice of steaks, grills and pizzas accompanied by music. La Raclette is a restaurant, pizzeria and bar situated in the central Piazzetta and offers a wide choice of local Valdostan dishes.
The hotel can arrange helicopter lifts to ski slopes, while younger guests benefit from supervised activities, a playroom and a separate children's pool.
Guestrooms. The Atahotel Planibel Residence offers 237 apartments in five separate buildings, all with their own lifts and underground parking. All open onto balconies which offer views of the mountainous surroundings, and come equipped with kitchenettes, cable television, direct dial phones, minibars, safes, and hair dryers.
Expert Tip. Guests can take time out from the slopes to admire the stunning local scenery by visiting Aiguille Rouge, 19 kilometres away. Its peak has an altitude of 3,227 metres and can be accessed by cable car, and provides a wonderful vantage point over the Northern Alps. Good mountain walking shoes and sunglasses are recommended since the summit is always snow covered.

Directions |
Getting there. Taxis to Turin city centre charge around 45 EUR. A railway links the airport to Turin's GTT Dora Railway Station; departures are every 30 minutes from the station, a few metres from the air terminal. Pre Saint Didier railway station is nine kilometres from La Thuile and taxis connect the station to Atahotel Planibel Residence. A shuttle service runs from the hotel around the resort, and a hire car is recommended for travelling further afield.
Driving directions. From Turin Airport, follow the A5 motorway to Aosta. Exit at Morgex and follow SS26 to Pre Saint Didier towards La Thuile.
