Description

The Liassidi Palace Hotel in Venice, Italy is a 15th century Venetian gothic building 300 meters from the famous San Marco square. Outside the hotel and around the San Marco district are many boutiques with designer clothing, jewelry and Venetian arts, crafts and souvenirs. Venice Marco Polo airport is 13 kilometers from the hotel.

In the lobby of the Liassidi Palace the original dark beam ceiling and Murano glass chandeliers have been retained. Gilded chairs and large paintings are typical of Venetian styles. The multilingual staff at the 24 hour front desk provides services that include currency exchange and safe deposit boxes. Complimentary buffet breakfasts are served each morning on white linen covered tables. A bar is open from early evening until late night.

The four story Liassidi Palace's 27 guestrooms have tan, taupe and cream colors with light colored oak and gold carved headboards, brass and glass tables, mirrored wardrobes and Art Deco paintings. Room amenities include in room safes and minibars. The ensuite bathrooms feature mosaic tiles and offer jetted tub/shower combinations or stall showers with massage showerheads. The rooms offer views of a courtyard garden, the San Lorenzo canal or St. George's church. Dial up Internet access is available in all rooms.

The showcase room of the hotel is the banquet hall on the main floor. Restored to its 15th century roots, the room features high, beamed ceilings, Murano glass lights and a divided window with lights that look over the canal.

    Nearby Attractions

Not far from the Riva degli Schiavoni, The Liassidi Palace Hotel is situated in the Castello quarter, in the heart of what is still an authentic Venice where places, sounds and atmospheres have conserved their own identity, which the inhabitants guard closely.

Walking through these streets you might come across a group of children playing in the shadow of a bell tower, or indeed women chatting from the window as they hang out their washing on the suspended wires or men talking about football and politics in a typical “bàcaro” (small bar).

Overlooking the San Lorenzo Canal, The Liassidi Palace is among the few hotels in Venice that is situated just a few metres from The Church of St. George of the Greeks with its Byzantine masterpieces and works of art from the School of San Nicoḷ with its splendid collection of icons.
