Description

The Hotel Des Bains is a turn of the century Palladian style property set in lush parklands, two kilometres from the sights of Venice's historic centre. The 191 guestrooms are decorated in a Belle Epoque style with richly patterned fabrics, and offer views across the gardens. Modern amenities include air conditioning, Internet connections, satellite television with pay movies, direct dial phones, hair dryers, safes and minibars.

The hotel offers a number of dining options: The elegant Liberty Restaurant decorated with classical frescoes and Murano glass chandeliers offers Mediterranean dishes along with an extensive wine list; the Pagoda Lounge is a serves Italian and Oriental fusion cooking and has a terrace which looks out over the beach; the Thomas Mann restaurant is open for buffet breakfasts in a chic, Belle Epoque setting; the Pool Bar offers snacks, light refreshments and cocktails.

Guests can work up a sweat in the well equipped fitness room, enjoy a game of tennis on the hotel courts and go for a refreshing dip in the outdoor pool. The hotel is set in lush parkland and also has a private beach area. In the evening, guests can sip cocktails in Bar Colony and on the terrace area. Those on business will benefit from the hotel's four conference rooms and any guests arriving by car will find complimentary parking onsite.

Practical amenities include a dry cleaning service, a 24 hour front desk with safe deposit box and a multilingual concierge on hand to offer sightseeing and tour assistance. St Mark's Square and Basilica, the Doge's Palace, the Opera House and the Bridge of Sighs are all within three kilometres, and the Rialto Bridge and Jewish Ghetto are within four kilometres. Venice Marco Polo Airport is five kilometres away and takes approximately 50 minutes to reach by car.

    Directions

    A shuttle service runs from the airport to the Westin Excelsior Hotel, from which a complimentary minibus service runs to the Hotel Des Bains. Alternatively private water taxis are available by arrangement with the hotel. Driving directions: From the airport, turn left onto the state road SS14 and follow signs for Venice. At the end of the Ponte della Liberta, the bridge which links Venice to the mainland, there is a sign for Tronchetto from where a ferry boat service to Venice Lido departs every 40 minutes.

    From the ferry boat arrival point, turn right onto Riviera San Nicolo and follow this into Riviera Santa Maria Elisabetta. Turn left into Gran Viale S.M. Elisabetta at the roundabout and follow it to the end. Turn right into Lungomare Marconi and the Hotel Des Bains is on the right.
